At Clare House we aim to provide you with a "home from home" at the beautiful seaside resort of Swanage.

Clare House is a lovely building full of character and history. It was originally part of a convent belonging to the "Poor Clare Sisters" (hence the name).  It has been a market hall, and a convalescence home for wounded soldiers after the Second World War. 

Clare House is situated 200m from the award-winning beach and the pier, with the town centre restaurants and pubs only a few minutes walk away.

We are also only a few minutes away from Durlston Country Park and the cliff-top walks along the beautiful heritage coast.

Studland Ferry News
The Studland chain ferry will be closing for at least 6 weeks from the 22nd September for repairs. You can take an alternative route from Poole and Bournemouth via Wareham to Swanage

We offer home made or locally sourced produce: we have a fairly extensive breakfast menu, with a variety of fruit juices, cereals, museli, yogurts, fresh fruit and berries; full English, a Vegetarian option, smoked salmon & scrambled eggs or freshly baked croissants and danish pastries, served with freshly baked bread, toast & preserves. To accompany your breakfast there is a selection of teas and FAIRTRADE coffee. Or why not try our home made pancakes with Maple syrup? 

Please note that we are also happy to cater for special diets, with prior notice. 

Breakfast is served in our elegant dining room.

All our rooms are en suite (some with bath & shower), tea/coffee making facilities, digital LCD TV with Freeview, DVD and a refridgerator.

We have a Playstation 2 and Playstation 3 with games, available on request.
